StarStudio IDE

Integrated Development Environment for Linux and Bera Metal development

StarStudio is an Integrated Development Environment (IDE) introduced by StarFive, which supports both Linux SDK and Bear Metal SDK development for the Dubhe-series IP products.

This GUI tool provides you with user-friendly development interface and supports code development, compilation, deployment, and debugging.

For Linux development:

  • StarStudio is built upon the Yocto eSDK.

  • Allows editing Linux or OpenSBI source code directly via GUI and rebuilding full images or binary files via a drop-down menu.

  • Comes with preconfigured toolchains, eliminating the risk of using incorrect variants.

  • Integrates with QEMU, allowing you to test target binaries in advance and shorten development cycles.

For Bear Metal development:

  • Delivers an improved user experience compared with traditional CLI workflows.

  • Generates a template consisting of C files and Makefile, allowing you to write code directly without faulty build configurations.

  • Supports semihosting, which greatly reduces the complexity of Bear Metal code development.
