OpenMAX is a royalty-free, cross-platform API that provides comprehensive streaming media
codec and application portability by enabling accelerated multimedia components to be
developed, integrated and programmed across multiple operating systems and silicon
platforms.
The following figure shows the block diagram of the OpenMAX module.Figure 1. OpenMax Block Diagram
The JH-7110 SDK uses the OpenMAX Intergration Layer (IL) only. Applications can access
OMX IL components through two paths:
Framework-level access — FFmpeg or GStreamer CLI commands that invoke OMX
plug-ins. This is the recommended approach for most users. See OMX Plug-ins and FFmpeg Use Examples.
Direct IL client access — Custom C applications that call the OMX IL API
directly. This requires understanding the full IL component lifecycle. See
OpenMAX IL Programming.
